She has also won several statewide awards in 2005 for a series of stories
uncovering the suburban teen drug problem. Before moving to the Philadelphia
region, she worked as an education reporter for The Charlotte Observer,
covered post-war conflicts in Bosnia and Kosovo for Stars & Stripes and
reported trends in crime and local government for The Miami Herald. She now
lives in Doylestown, PA with her husband, infant daughter and two young
boys.
Sarah W. Caron: Most people can’t say what they will do as an adult when
they are 4 or 5 or even 15. But Sarah W. Caron is not most people. As a
freelance writer, her work has appeared in a variety of publications including
the New York Times, Teen Newsweek, Current Events, Boston.com and the New
Haven Register. In November 2005, she combined her writing career with her
food obsession, creating a food blog, Cucina Bella. She is a graduate of Barnard
College in New York and holds a bachelors degree in political science. Sarah
lives in Connecticut with her husband, son and two rambunctious beagles.
P. M. Carpenter graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with
majors in political science and history, where he also earned an MA. He holds a
Ph.D. in American history from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
His book Political Low Roads: American Demagoguery and the Rise of the New
Right argues that a major transformation occurred in the course of twentieth-
century demagoguery.
Patricia F. D'Ascoli received her B.A. in Literature from Purchase College, in
Purchase, NY. Her humorous essays have appeared in the Greater New
Milford Spectrum, Connecticut County Kids Magazine and Jill Magazine. She
writes feature stories for a number of Connecticut newspapers and magazines
and also publishes Connecticut Muse, a literary newsletter that celebrates
contemporary Connecticut authors. Patricia lives with her husband and three

Rob Glidden graduated with a B.F.A. degree from New York University,
having studied Journalism and Cinema Studies. He works part-time for small
newspapers in Connecticut, covering local news as well as submitting film
reviews and annual analysis of the Academy Awards. After some practice (and
encouragement from his girlfriend of five years), he learned how to cover
political news and learned to love it. His role as co-creator (with Mark
Conforti) and writer of the amateur video game Master of the Wind
(masterofthewind.com) provides an outlet for his more creative side. His

Terry Hargrove is the fourth of seven children, born and raised in Lewisburg,
Tennessee. He grew up across the street from the Marshall County Public
Library, and has had a love affair with books ever since. After 23 years teaching
reading and English in his home state, he followed the path to Connecticut just
like his favorite author, Mark Twain. And just like Mark Twain, he is losing all
his money.
Nick Lyons was born and raised in Roseville, CA. Ever since he was a child he
has been a film/television/comic book/science-fiction buff. For the past eight
years, he has worked as a freelance screenwriter as well as a film and television
critic for various Web sites. He currently resides in Portland, Oregon. His book,
Attack of the Sci-Fi Trivia is a fin-filled party game for sci-fi lovers and casual`
fans alike.
Dan Mullen currently works as a sports writer for a Connecticut newspaper
(The New Britain Herald). Mullen has had his freelance work featured
nationallyin publications including The Sporting News magazine, The Denver
Post, and Rivals.com. He has covered Colorado sports from the community to
the professional level for the Greeley Tribune. Born and raised a die-hard
Colorado sports fan, Mullen grew up with a finger on the pulse of the Colorado
sports scene as a Denver Nuggets and Colorado Rockies season ticket holder,
and has warned every significant other he has ever had of the Denver sports
fan's creed -- When the Rockies lose -- laugh. When the Nuggets lose -- cry and
when the Broncos lose --hide.
